Interviewing

Qualitative interviewing is not just a research method, it is a craft. Rooted in theoretical and philosophical principles, it is a skill that comes to live through practice. In this course several types of interviewing will be explored, comparing them with each other and addressing the advantages and disadvantages of each approach.

The course discusses access, informed consent, recording, the development of a topic list, interview techniques and transcribing. But this course goes beyond theory. You will have ample opportunity to put your skills into practice, developing topic lists and conducting semi-structured interviews, so that you can truly master the tricks of the trade.
